The team comprises two Dietitians supported by a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner and provide a dietetic service for adult inpatient across all wards at the Haywood (Broadfield, Chatterley, Grange, Jackfield, Scotia and Sneyd).
They organise a rolling programme on various dietetic topics including Malnutrition Universal Screening Tools for registered nurses and healthcare support staff. The team train and support Nutrition Link nurses on all wards and link with catering regarding food provision.
They work alongside the MDT on all wards to ensure the optimal nutritional care for patients.

Referrals are only accepted for patients currently admitted at the Haywood Hospital. If you require a community dietitian’s input please contact your local GP practice for further information.

The Rheumatology Centre at the Haywood Hospital currently welcomes patients from North Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire. The catchment area has a population of over 500,000 patients.
The centre deals with the investigation, diagnosis, management and treatment of patients with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions many of which are chronic conditions which require lifelong treatment.
The Haywood Hospital is pioneering in many different aspects of rheumatology, the first community rheumatologist was appointed here and the first development of a computerised drug monitoring system was at the Haywood Hospital.
The Rheumatology Centre also has an active research team, known nationally and internationally for its work.
