Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offers a range of apprenticeships and career development opportunities for both new and existing staff.

Our current apprenticeships are advertised on the NHS Jobs website, all applications should be made through this route.

What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes available to anyone from the age of 16 onwards. They enable learners to demonstrate their competence while gaining a recognised qualification, achieved through a mix of on-the-job training and study, whilst at the same time earning a wage.

There are a range of apprenticeship levels that lead to different qualifications, and they typically take between one and four years to complete.

Apprenticeships bring a number of tangible benefits to NHS organisations, including creating skilled and motivated employees. Apprentices train for a specific job, and this usually means they are committed to that role.

Apprenticeships

This Government website provides everything you need to know about Apprenticeships. An apprenticeship will give you hands-on experience, a salary, and the opportunity to gain qualifications while you work. To get your career started, you usually need a combination of experience and qualifications. An apprenticeship gives you both by combining on the job training with study, meaning you can earn while you learn.

National Careers Service

The National Careers Service offers useful tips when writing your apprenticeship applications. There is support available to help you before and during your apprenticeship. The National Careers Service provides information about learning and work, with a helpline giving professional advice on making the right choices. This website provides information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities. The service offers confidential and impartial advice. This is supported by qualified Careers Advisors.

Apprenticeships for Existing Staff

If you are employed by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and you would like to develop your knowledge and skills further, why not undertake an apprenticeship utitlising our Apprenticeship Levy Fund?

A staff apprenticeship enables you to undertake a qualification relevant to your role that will not only enhance skills and abilities, but also benefit teams and services across the organisation.

Apprenticeship standards define what an apprentice will be doing, and the skills required of them, by job role.
