I am the Health and Wellbeing Strategy Implementation Manager at MPFT. Before joining the Trust I worked across local government and the third sector, most recently focused on working with local authorities and leisure trusts to develop sustainable long term capital investment plans for their built facilities and designing leisure services that achieve good wellbeing outcomes for residents and communities.
Though new to the NHS, I have worked extensively in a public health context to ensure that physical activity is embedded as a key policy feature of local strategic plans including the Staffordshire and Stoke STP prevention programme and the Staffordshire Health and Wellbeing Board’s strategic plan. I have been lucky to work on and lead a diversity of projects, ranging from regional workforce development initiatives, development of the national safeguarding standards for sport, Sport England initiatives to get more people active and the contract management of major events such as the Ironman Staffordshire 70.3, and the UK Corporate Games.
My role is to help the Trust achieve the objectives and ambitions set out in the Health and Wellbeing Strategy, particularly in relation to improving outcomes for patients, service users and their communities through healthier behaviours and better lifestyle choices.
I have a young family and enjoy climbing, walking and mountain biking. I am a qualified UK Mountain Leader and training to be an International Mountain Leader.
