What is UNICEF Baby Friendly? 

The UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative is a global campaign by the World Health Organisation and the United Nations Children’s Fund which recognises that implementing best practices in the health service and wider community children’s services is crucial to the success of breastfeeding. 

baby friendly gold logo with white letteringThe Trust has recognised the importance of initiating, supporting and sustaining breastfeeding and, in March 2021, was successful in achieving the UNICEF UK  Baby Friendly Initiative's Achieving Sustainability (Gold) Award.

The UNICEF Implementation Team 

The team are here to support Health Visiting and Infant Feeding colleagues, and those closely involved in supporting breastfeeding families, in ensuring that the Baby Friendly Standards are communicated and adhered to throughout the Trust area; project managing the accreditation and reassessment processes.
