The Covid-19 vaccination team at Tunstall Vaccination Centre reached the remarkable milestone of successfully administering 100,000 vaccination doses to members of the public on Monday.

The impressive achievement has been delivered through the coordinated efforts of Staffordshire’s Vaccination Programme.

The programme has provided a host of vaccination centres across the county (Tunstall, Stafford and Alrewas) as well as GP and pharmacy sites and targeted vaccination clinics across local communities.

Tunstall’s Vaccination Centre, based at Daniel Platt Business Park, is operated by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT). The clinical team which has made the target of reaching 100,000 possible is made up of local health care professionals, as well as hardworking volunteers, who have given their spare time to support the programme.

Neil Carr, Chief Executive of MPFT and Senior Responsible Officer for the vaccination programme in Staffordshire, said: “Reaching this incredible landmark is a huge achievement for the team at Tunstall and the entire vaccination programme. I am very proud of this outstanding achievement and want to offer my hugest congratulations and most heartfelt thank you to all involved in this incredible team effort.”

Mr Carr added: “Despite reaching such a milestone it’s important to remember that there is still time to get vaccinated if you haven’t already. We know from anecdotal feedback that some people, particularly younger people, are putting it off. Getting the vaccine is quick and easy and importantly, the most effective protection against Covid-19. If you have any concerns, please speak to our clinical teams at the vaccination centres or walk-in clinics who will be happy to support and advise you.”
