Local people with an interest in mental health services are invited to join an interactive engagement event to find out more about plans to transform community mental health care in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

The plans are part of a national initiative to provide more effective and responsive services.  The aim is to enable people to access mental health care where and when they need it, and be able to move through the system easily. Services will take a personalised approach which is responsive to a person’s individual needs and helps them to live as healthy and fulfilling life as possible.

By ensuring services are provided locally, people will be cared for surrounded by their families, carers and social networks, and supported in their community.

In order to implement this national vision, local health services are working with partners from local authorities and the voluntary and community sector.  Colleagues are also keen to involve people who have personal experience of mental health services, and their families and carers.

An interactive information and engagement session about the plan will be held on Friday 20 August, 10.30-13.00, via Microsoft Teams. This is open to people who have used mental health services, their carers and family members, partners from local organisations, the voluntary and community sector, and interested members of the general public.

Please contact lucy.wilkinson@mpft.nhs.uk to register an interest and/or nominate colleagues to attend.  Further details and a link will then be shared nearer the date.

Anyone who is unable to attend the meeting but would like to receive further information about the plans can also contact lucy.wilkinson@mpft.nhs.uk
