Jennie Collier, Managing Director of MPFT’s services in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent said: “We’ve listened closely to patients and professionals, who have commented about the frustration of needing to repeat information to the clinicians they have an appointment with. This new joined-up approach aims to reduce duplication, leading to a more simplified service for patients.”
As part of the launch, a new single point of access has been introduced that aims to streamline the referral process for GPs and other health professionals and ensure that patients with MSK conditions are seen faster and unnecessary delays can be avoided.
Jennie added: “A key priority for the service is to also ensure patients receive better information and advice that gives them more control of their own health care and wellbeing.
“A lot of hard work has gone into this launch, for which I thank both our staff and partners. As well as supporting the Trust’s priority of providing integrated services for the benefit of its patients and service users, it also reaffirms our commitment to local health and care partners in prioritising the integration of physical health services in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.”
