Brilliant Masks, whose UK made face-coverings are designed by doctors and tested to the highest industry and infection control standards, have partnered with MPFT to raise funds for children and family health care services.

100% UK made, the new rainbow print face-covering, which was designed by a local patient, will give back to the Trust by supporting the organisation’s children and family health care services.

Brilliant Masks, which launched in September 2020, have been designed and tested to the toughest industry health and infection standards. The new cloth face coverings are intended to be one of the best in the market in terms of comfort, breathability, fit and protection.

Sustainably sourced and with a transparent and traceable supply chain, Brilliant Masks are manufactured from start to finish in the UK and are printed using toxic-free Greenprinted™️ Technology.

The masks are made of super soft 400 thread Supima cotton and have an anti-viral coating tested against COVID-19. They are fully washable, easy to iron and reusable. The new design supporting MPFT is available now at https://brilliantmasks.co.uk/collections/midland-hospital/products/the-midlands-partnership-nhs-foundation-trust-charity-mask

Priced at £11.99, every Brilliant Mask sold will see a contribution of £1.40 made to MPFT’s charitable funds. All funds raised will support health care services provided to local children and their families across Staffordshire and Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

Brilliant Masks, who are already producing more than 30,000 masks a month, are aiming to become regarded as the nation’s leading non-medical face covering as it encourages UK families to opt for high-quality face coverings to protect against the transmission of COVID-19.

Alison Bussey, Chief Nurse at MPFT, said: “The concept of a Trust branded reusable face-covering was developed by community staff nurse, Lynne Wilson who works within local children’s health care services.

“Lynne has actively been involved in the response to Covid-19 through her day job but also through her role as a vaccinator in the local vaccination programme. During which she recognised a need for people to have reusable face-coverings, which can be washed, to reduce the spread of Covid-19.”

Chief Nurse, Alison added: “As an NHS trust we are keen to use different methods to support people’s recovery. So it’s an extra special touch that the design of our face-covering, which is now available to buy, was created by one of our patients during their time in our care.”

Michael Conway, Founder of Brilliant Masks, said: “We’re delighted to be able to team up with Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to launch these new Brilliant Masks designs and we hope the local community gets behind them. With a percentage of the price going to the Trust, people can be ensured they’re also supporting local NHS services.

“Brilliant Masks are a leading light in face coverings now, they are a truly traceable, eco-friendly product. From the field where the cotton for your mask was grown, to the factories in the UK where it was spun, woven into high-quality fabric and printed with its fun designs, the environment has been taken into account.

“With a low carbon footprint and excellent eco-credentials, by choosing one of these masks, people are helping keep our planet free of single-use plastic waste which ends up in our oceans or landfill, whilst also supporting regional NHS projects and limiting the spread of COVID-19,” concluded Michael.

The masks will be on sale for the use of members of the public. They won’t be adopted by staff working in a clinical setting.
