Wendy Colclough, Walk in Centre manager said “We are always there for people who need us but due to the Coronavirus outbreak we are asking people only to attend the Walk In Centre if they have an injury or illness that needs urgent attention. By urgent we mean it needs attention that day.
“People who have Coronavirus symptoms should not visit the Walk In Centre but should use the NHS 111 online Coronavirus service in the first instance.”
Dr Steve Fawcett, a GP and Medical Director for Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire CCGs said: “Primary care services are available, and we continue to work with patients to manage existing conditions. We are also anxious that they should contact us if they are worried about symptoms that are not Coronavirus related.
“Most of our appointments are now be carried out remotely via phone or video link but we are still there to support patients, while community pharmacies are on-hand to help people with minor injuries and illness, but anyone visiting them must practice social distancing.”
